My mommy is on the mailing list for The Humane Society of the United States and received a message - Ms. Winfrey taking on the puppy mills. On Friday, April 4th, she's devoting her show to educate the public about the horrors of puppy mills and the very sad life these doggies have.

I can't believe it . . . I'm a senior

Today my Mom came home from the grocery stores with lots of bags. Now I love checking out the bags from the grocery store, because I know there's aways something in there for me.

So I'm going bag to bag and then I stop cold. It's my bag of dog food but it now has the word "senior" written on it.

What? Am I reading correctly? Blue for Senior Dogs? I look up at my Mom and I know she sees me, but she pretends not to notice me glaring at her.

Senior dog? When did I become a senior dog? OK, I have a little gray on the muzzle, but I notice that box of hair color in the shopping bag so I don't think you have any room to talk. Maybe I have put on a pound or two, but aren't your jeans a size bigger than they were say two or three years ago?

Senior Dog? I'm not a senior dog. That's the golden retriever down the block. Sheesh that thing must be at least 5 or 6 years old . . . whoops. I just remembered, I'm 7. Let me see that bag . . . "senior" is 7 or older . . . oh no . . . I'm getting old.
